PILOTING

The Piloting course includes interpretation of charts, the DR plot, bearings, FIXes, determination of course to steer in a current, and calculating distance off.

The course also tackles the hazards of weather, wind, waves, currents, tides and how to deal with them. Finally, it examines vessel handling specific to hull speed, stability, rudders and propellers.
